I'm a graduate of the University of Iowa MFA program, where I was an Iowa Arts Fellow. My award-winning writing has appeared in The New York Times, Newsday, Ms., Lonely Planet, Orion, Narrative, Washingtonian, The Best Travel Writing and many other publications.
As a published author, I'm uniquely positioned to coach and teach writers to develop the skillset and mindset they need to generate and publish their best work.
I also support solo entrepreneurs to navigate the challenges of communicating about their businesses in compelling and authentic ways.

For over a decade I've worked with my husband to build an internationally touring, Latin GRAMMY-winning children's music act, Mister G, from local school and library performances to concerts at Lollapalooza and Summerstage in Central Park. As the Manager of a growing arts business, I was in charge of booking, marketing, promotion, networking, art direction, and staff training and anything else that came up along the way.
Ultimately, I grew the business into a major act with national and international bookings at major venues including Austin City Limits, New Orleans Jazz Fest, Wolf Trap, the Getty Museum, the National Theatre, Symphony Space, Skirball Museum and South by Southwest. To date, we've performed to 1000s of kids and families, released twelve albums of award-winning, original music for kids and families, and published two picture books based on songs through Penguin Random House.
Before entering the music business, I developed a thriving practice as a Health and Wellness coach in New York City. Working individually with clients soon expanded into a career as a Corporate Speaker. I presented workshops at the New York City Department of Health, the Australian Embassy, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the US Department of Agriculture and a series of talks at the United Nations.
Over the past two decades, I've developed a wide variety of skills from creating successful businesses in completely different fields. These experiences have given me a high degree of versatility and nuance in the business world, and a unique perspective as a coach.
